People And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
These words from The 1979 Book of Common Prayer signal the start of each of the Daily Offices in the Anglican tradition and serve to focus the congregation’s attention on the importance of both God and community. For those unfamiliar with the Episcopal Church, or Anglicanism in general, the Daily Offices of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline are an inheritance from the monastic tradition of pausing several times throughout the day to gather in community to pray.
So I begin this blog with that in mind. Due to the nature of its content, this project will only be successful if it remains a God-centered undertaking. And bearing in mind that true theological reflection functions best in community, I welcome your comments and questions.
